Purpose
The purpose of this system is three-fold:
- Encourage participation by earning points that can later be spent on equipment
- Promote a dynamic point structure so that as drops become less valuable they will cost less points.
- Distribute loot drops without favoritism to any member.
Points Earned
Points will be earned by participating in guild-sponsored raids. The following points can be earned:
- Raid points - 1 point per raid hour. Points will be rounded up or down based on 30 minute mark.
- Bonus Points - 1 point per night for members who were on time at the start of the raid and stayed through the entire raid.
NOTE: Points will be in whole numbers only - no half points will ever be awarded or spent.
To put these points into perspective – here are some examples of how points can be awarded:
Example 1:
A 2-hour raid at ANY zone will yield 2 points for all members present for the raid and another 1 bonus point for those that were on time and stayed for the whole raid (total of 3 points)
Example 2:
A 2-hour and 35 minute raid will be rounded up to 3 hours and 3 points would be awarded
Example 3:
A 2-hour and 25 minute raid would be rounded down to 2 hours and 2 points would be awarded.
Points Spent
Each player will accumulate points as they attend guild raids. There is no limit on how many points a player can accumulate. Therefore, the more a member raids, the more points they can accumulate.
All auctions for green items and above (some rare items will be included such as 16-slot backpacks etc) will be performed via a one-step silent bidding Auction:
- All bids will start at 1 point and move up from there.
- The bidding period will last NO MORE than 30 seconds, so members need to pay attention and make sure that bids are in before the time is up.
- All Applicants begin with 1 point that they can spend the first night that they raid.
An example of how the silent bidding will take place is as follows:
Start of auction:
“<officer> UberItemX is up for bids – bids start at 1 point”
At this point, every member who wishes to bid on the item, may do so by sending a /tell or a /whisper to the officer running the auction. Please note – each member may only bid ONCE! Once a member has sent in their bid, it CANNOT be recalled! Members are ecouraged to pay attention and make sure the item they are bidding on is truly an item they want.
All Auction decisions are final! Bids will not be accepted after a winner has been announced. To keep Auctions moving relatively fast, all auctions will run NO MORE than 30 seconds – if members are AFK when the auctions take place, the auction will NOT be re-done. Members are encouraged to hold afk times until after auctions are completed so they do not miss out.
General auction rules and guidelines are listed below:
1) No names of bidders will be announced until the lotto is completed – this will prevent members from bidding against other members for personal reason.
2) Each member may bid on as many items per night as they have points for. Once the raid starts, points will be frozen - points earned through the course of the night CANNOT be used for bidding.
3) All bids must be made in whole point increments (players may bid 1, 5, 12 etc – players may not bid fractional points such as 1.5 or 5.75).
4) All players who can wear the item can place a bid – the highest bidder with the proper level will win the item. If no players that have the required item level have placed a bid, then the highest bid of players without the required level will win the auction.
(Example: A level 59 item will go the highest level 59 bidder. If no level 59 bidders want the item, then it will go the highest bidder under level 59)
5) Sometimes during the raid, it will be necessary to set loot to GROUP LOOT. This means that all members will need to pass on all rolls for BoE items. Officers will loot these items eithe for later Auction or for guid vault sales. Members who roll on these items by mistake are expected to turn in the items to officers as soon as they receive them for later Auctions.
6) All auctions for BoP (bind on pick-up) items will take place as they drop. Please pay attention - our goal is to auction these items quickly so that we can keep the raid moving. If a BoP item drops while loot is set to Group Loot, members are expected to pass on the item so that it can be auctioned off.
7) In order to promote fair loot distribution, all members may only win one purple+ item per night. If a player already won a purple+ item for the night and another purple+ item drops that he/she wants, that player may only be allowed to bid on that item if no one who has not yet won a purple+ item has bid on it. If you are bidding on a second purple+ item for the night, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to tell the auctioneer that you have ALREADY WON your first purple+ item for the night. If you fail to do so and end up winning the item over someone who has not yet won an item officer may impose a point penalty on your win.
If all members who want the item already won a purple+ item for the night, the Auction for the item will proceed as normal, and all players will be allowed to bid on the item.
EXCEPTION! We have recently added a 1 point rule execption to the purple+ item rule. Any item that costs 1 point will not count towards your purple+ item for the night. In the same fashion, players who already won their purple+ item for the night may bid 1 point on as many items as they wish. If mutliple people bid 1 point for an item, we will /random off the winner.
8) Class Armor drops will be awarded to members of the correct class at first choice. If no member of the correct class is present anyone who can use the item may bid for it.
9) Members may bid on items for alts only when allowed by officers. This will generally only be allowed if no other mains need or want the item.
10) All BOP items not wanted after auction (for either mains or alts) will be DE'd for components. All BOP Items not wanted will be sold at the AH to fund consumables. Enchant components contained in the vault may be requested by members through the Vault Forums. See Rules and Regulations forums for futher details on Banked Enchantments.
11) If 2 or more members happen to have the same highest bid on an auction, then the auctioneer will random /1 2 for the final win. The member who wins will pay the points bid on the Auction.
12) Applicants may spend any earned points per the point rules listed above.
Tradeskill Recipes, Quest items and Spells
There will be no cost for tradeskill recipes obtained during raids. It is to the advantage of PF that members who have a particular trade, be able to scribe that item. Therefore, with that in mind, the rules regarding trade items will be as follows:
1) Only players who can use the recipe can be in on the lotto (i.e. – if a Leatherworking pattern drops with a skill requirement of 250 then only players with at least 250 proficiency level in that trade can lotto for the item).
2) Lottos for patterns, quest items and spells will take place as they drop. Members who need/want will /random 1 1000 - highest roll wins.
3) Recipes will not be counted towards Auction items – players may win patterns and still be able to win their regular two Auction items for the night.
4) These rules will be followed for all plans and recipes – even purple+ and Bind on Pickup recipes.
5) All recipes not wanted by members will go to the guild vault. Members will be able to retrieve items from the Vault as they reach the necessary level for the recipe – free of charge. Recipes will go to the first member who has reached the proper skill level and requests the items from the vault. We will not be able to "reserve" items for members. These items will be distributed in a first come first serve basis.
6) The same rules used for Recipes will be used for Spells.
7) Members on quests will be able to roll for quest items that drop during raids. Members who are eligible to roll are members who are currently ON the quest.
8) Applicants are not eligible to roll for recipes, spells or quest items.
